Dress Hippie Patchwork

This step-by-step guide for beginning and experienced carvers offers whimsical designs for treating imaginative creatures and their country backdrops. Carving projects feature Barry the Bear, a friendly bear complete with a pot belly and patchwork overalls. Christmas bear, patriotic bear, cub in a stump, Do-Nothin Rabbit, Busy Beaver, and even a well-dressed moose. From the first to the last cut, each step is documented with a color photograph and a brief instructional caption. For each of these projects there are also bandsaw patterns for roughing out the general shape and carving patterns for detailing the actual piece. After the carving is complete, woodworkers learn to paint their projects with step-by-step instructions and paint color suggestions.
